This meeting is organised within the framework of NEUJOBS, a major research project financed by the 7th Framework Programme of the European Commission, and will discuss the early findings of NEMESIS, an economic model that seeks to link long-term economic development and employment with structural policies such as RTD, environment and energy regulation and general fiscal reforms. The model aims to generate scenarios that will allow policy-makers to anticipate and prepare for the impact of the socio-ecological transition on the labour market. Participants will discuss this promising new forecasting technique to help researchers identify the main drivers behind non-business-as-usual scenarios. Moreover, we hope to grasp practitioners’ views on the future of employment in Europe and on the usefulness of such forecasting exercises.
